A new "Puppy" is what you want

On one hand, this thought brings a smile to your face as you think about a soft, tail-wagging bundle of joy puppy!  On the other hand, you are probably wondering just what comes with puppyhood?

Dogs Need Lots of Attention

I have really learned this lesson while living with my Shih Tzu.    Certain breeds need more attention than other breeds.  Before you purchase that puppy you are really wanting, read through the breed appearance and personality descriptions on this web site to get an idea of what might fit you, your family and lifestyle.

Dogs are so unlike guinea pigs.  They do not accept social isolation well.  You just cannot expect a dog to be happy sitting alone in a room all day with newspapers spread out for their bathroom or what have you, a bowl of water and some food.

Research Dog Breed Personality and Temperaments

Busy, on-the-go people need the love of a dog just as much as the dog needs your love.  There are breeds especially for you, independent breeds with medium-to-low energy level.  Again, you really need to research about the different breeds of dogs, before you purchase that one or several special puppies.
